The collection was created in collaboration with artist Grzegorz Worpus. His original works became the starting point, which we translated into the form of handmade rugs. Here, the image leaves its original plane and is reinterpreted through material, texture, and scale, allowing art to enter into dialogue with space from a different perspective.

Both TAPIS ATELIER and the artist Grzegorz Worpus come from the same city. Łódź was where the idea for the collaboration was born, as well as the creative hub where the entire process of developing the designs took place.

Bringing together a rug brand and an artist in a city deeply rooted in Poland’s weaving history created the space to develop an authentic collection built around a considered concept.

Grzegorz Worpus-Budziejewski (b. 1986 in Łódź) is a painter, designer, and graphic artist, and a graduate of the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Colour lies at the heart of his practice. Its intensity, fluidity, and ability to create atmosphere. His abstract compositions often exist on the boundary between landscape and memory, suggesting space and light rather than depicting them directly.

His most recognised series, Sensual Landscape, emerged from memories of the landscapes of southern Italy. Subtle gradients and almost fluid transitions between colours create paintings with a sensual, contemplative character. It is precisely this language of colour, light, and materiality that became the starting point for his collaboration with TAPIS ATELIER.
